Blue whales are the largest animals ever. They weigh 2 tons at birth. At adult age they 120 tons, that's about 240,000 lbs. The average adult's heart is about the size of a Volkswagon Beetle. Blue whales are mammals like dolphins. They migrate from the Artic to California or Mexico. They eat krill, a type of plankton. The blue whale is the loudest animal on Earth. Not many whales are live today. Their scientific name is ballenoptera musculus. They are baleen whales.
